BENIN CITY-Demonstrating his resolve to touch the lives of the common man in Edo state if elected as governor, the All Progressive Congress governorship aspirant, Arc. Ilenre Austin Emuan has said his administration would provide the much needed basic infrastructure to the people of the state particularly those living in the rural areas if given the mandate as the next governor of the state.

Arc. Emuan made the promise when he visited notable traditional rulers, farmers and youths leaders  in the three senatorial districts of the state as part of the activities kick starting his governorship campaign across the state.

Arc. Emuan visitation provided opportunities for the villagers in most communities to present their problems to the governorship aspirant, believing that with God on his side, if elected as governor; their problems would be solved. One could see the joy on their faces to the extent that one was moved to tears when they told Arc. Emuan that should he wins the election? he should not forget them. They said governors and politicians in the past had deceived them with unfulfilled promises.

Addressing the elated farmers in Esan land, Arc Emuan told them how he started his life in the village and therefore shared their pains, joy and aspirations as a "home-grown Esan man".

He reeled out his programmes of transforming the rural communities to centers of development, adding that Esan land would become under his administration, a tourism belt as a way of exploring the potentials of the youths especially. He also spoke about his plans to rejuvenate Agricultural Farm Settlements across the state and for rice cultivation for which the area was noted.

Other programmes he highlighted are qualitative education which will involve total transformation of education right from the primary to the tertiary levels, rehabilitation of blocks of classrooms, building of new ones and provision of modern facilities for them, while each secondary school will become boarding to allow the pupils receive qualitative education and moral instruction and the school enterprise project where the peoples will participate in running of some business enterprises, such as bakery, soap-making and mat-weaving, among others.

He asked them to help educate those party delegates in every area he visited to be wise enough to nominate him as the APC flag bearer in the June 2nd this year party primaries.

“I am humbled by your acceptance of my person, am here to solicit for your supports. I am not here to tell you that I will build heaven on earth for you but to remind you that am not unaware of the broken promises of past politicians who came to steal your votes and abandoned you people. Join me to beg our party delegates to see reasons with me why our future can no longer be mortgaged in the hands of the greedy politicians. Nominate me as APC candidate, you will be proud to be associated with me”, he assures.
